Still Here. Still Moving.

At 39, Novak Djokovic is still doing what champions do: finding another way.

Today, he beat the world’s No. 2. Not by pretending to be 25 again. Not by fighting time. By adapting to it.

And a few thousand miles away, another very American institution is doing some adapting of its own.

The NFL is in London.

Washington and Indianapolis, two names rooted in American geography, are playing football across the Atlantic. Yes, it is business. Yes, it is about audiences, ratings and growth. That’s fine. Growth usually needs a reason.

What I like is the bigger idea: a sport doesn’t have to abandon where it came from to discover where else it can go.

Washington itself knows something about change. The franchise has changed its name, its identity and the way it presents itself. People can have their own opinions about what it was called before and what it is called now. That debate isn’t really the point.

The point is that the game kept moving.

Djokovic keeps moving, too.

Maybe that’s what longevity actually looks like.

Not refusing to change.

Not desperately trying to stay young.

Not throwing away everything that got you here.

It is knowing what should stay—and being willing to change what shouldn’t.

Experience and change aren’t opposites. Sometimes experience is exactly what teaches you how to change.

Still here. Still moving.
